Over
the last 23 years, glass artist Nancy Gong has developed a rich personal
style and impressive command of her medium. Her designs are free-flowing
and organic utilizing soft abstract images inspired by nature, architectural
detail, Feng Shui - the spirit and energy of living things and the Orient.
These designs are intentionally intriguing at first glance but upon closer
examination, the viewer will begin to feel and appreciate the lush detail
and finely crafted skill used to achieve them.
Combining the traditional techniques of stained glass craftsmen and
stone carvers with her own style of hand painting, her works depict
various levels of transition and contrast; color and texture; motion
and spontaneity in spite of a flat, static medium. As the ever-changing
light plays against the design elements, Gong is able to create unique,
living works of art with a range of personalities, constantly beckoning
the viewer to see something new and fresh with every passing look.
Today, Nancy Gong has gained a reputation as one of the foremost glass
artists in the world. She is listed in Who's Who in Contemporary Glass
Art, The World's Who's Who of Women and 2,000 Notable American Women.
She has been profiled in more than 20 different magazines and professional
journals including Interiors & Sources, the China Daily News, The
Design Journal of Korea, and Professional Stained Glass Magazine. In
2003, her leaded glass art creation "Lyrical Illusions" will
be featured as a case study in the book Glass House and her architectural
and sculptural art to be prfiled in Stained Glass Magazine.

also comes from affiliations with the Naples Mills School of Arts and
Crafts, the Allofus Art Workshop, the School for American Craftsmen
at RIT, Narcissus Quagliata Design Workshop, Glass Art Society , Norm
